How Can You Help?

  • Educate yourself and others about domestic violence.

  • Be a friend. Help a friend in an abusive situation by being non-judgmental and a good listener. Tell her about the WINGS hotline, (601)- 684-9111, and encourage her to seek help.

  • Be an example. Get involved! Show your support. Volunteer.

  • Make donations of gently used furnitures or appliances, household items or clothes to 327 Broad Street, Columbia 39429 601-736-9723 or 700 Chestnut St, Summit, MS 39666 601- 680- 4402. 

  • Make a monetary donation or monthly pledge to support the wings ministry or mail at P.O. Box 150 Columbia, MS 39429.

Responsibilities:

Answer phones and direct calls

Greet customers and direct them to areas of interest

Answer questions about the organization or direct questions to staff

Make reminder calls to other volunteers when necessary

Help prepare bale sales

Store maintenance (sweep, mop, stocking racks/ shelves)

Volunteering with WINGS

The purpose of a volunteer is to support the organization’s mission and goals in the capacity of carrying out activities directly related to the sale of thrift items that will help maintain operations for our stores and shelters and to aid in the daily upkeep and running (as needed) of said stores.

Locations: Columbia Thrift Store and Boutique in Columbia, MS and McComb Thrift Store in McComb, MS.

Qualifications: pleasant manner, patience, problem-solving ability, dependability

Dress Code: business casual.
