About

WINGS is a single mother’s transitioning program for women and children who need the assistance into a better life. We provide services for the counties of Pike, Amite, Lawrence, Lincoln, Franklin, Walthall and Marion and for any person(s) immediately affected, in need of shelter, or in need of a safe haven. Clients outside of these service counties can benefit from immediate emergency assistance, homelessness prevention, and/or rapid rehousing services. Services provided through the program include case management, job readiness training, rapid rehousing, street outreach, and homelessness prevention. This assistance enables victims and their families to secure permanent housing and help them to reintegrate themselves back into the community. When clients leave our emergency shelter after benefiting from the services, WINGS coordinates with other agencies to benefit eligible individuals and families. Clients are encouraged to make a plan to live a successful life in the future. They have learned how to balance work, home and personal time effectively and efficiently. Program services and emergency shelter services have steadily increased. WINGS is pleased to report that the organization serves an average of 100 women and children, of which, 100 percent have attained and maintained a career and a household. We expect to increase the number of recipients served.

We believe all women can embrace who they are,
can define their future, and can change the world.
